Six Reasons to Spend this year’s extra day at Araluen Botanic Park

This year for the first time in four years, you’ll be treated to an extra day - 29 February.  By wonderful coincidence, Araluen Botanic Park have filled the extra day with an array of entertainment in the heart of the Park as part of the Blues in the Hills event, featuring captivating performances from some of the best blues entertainers in the country.  Here’s five reasons you should spend your 29 February at Araluen:

  1. It’s a great way to spend the last day of summer

Every season must come to an end.  29 February will mark the end of summer, and what a great way to spend it!  Nestled on a picnic rug, family and friends nearby, enjoying wonderful blues music alongside some of Perth’s most unique flora.

  1. Music sounds better in an outdoor amphitheatre

Indoor concert venues are all well and good, but have you ever heard the magical acoustics of an amphitheatre?  Araluen Botanic Park’s amphitheatre is one of the best in Perth; and is certain to complement the performances of the many talented musicians and vocalists performing as part of this year’s Blues in the Hills event.

  1. You can bring a wine or two

What’s a cheese platter without a wine or two.  Bring along your favourite beverage to enjoy while you take in the sights and sounds of this year’s event.  As always, we ask that you drink responsibly.

  1. If You Lack the Motivation for a Packed Picnic, there’s food at the Park!

An extra day in the year is a bonus, so why not relax, and let Araluen do the cooking.  Chalet Healy Café will be open from 4-6.30pm.  Enjoy delicious pizza, burgers, fish and chips or chips and gravy while enjoying blues music under the stars.

  1. If you enjoy Blues music, this is the perfect event for you

Matt Taylor and Band, Michael, Moonshine Trust, and Kyra Bee and the Illegals will deliver wonderful musical performances in the heart of Araluen Botanic Park.  Offering covers of popular rhythm and blues songs as well as original work, performances at the Blues in the Hills are certain to leave audiences with a memorable summer evening of music with family and friends.

  1. You can pre purchase your tickets

You won’t have to line up at the gate for tickets, you can pre purchase online at  Tickets are only $25 for adults and $15 for children.  If you don’t get around to it, you can buy them at the Park gate on the night, for a little more.

This is a musical event you don’t want to miss.
